Finding Strength No Matter What.

I am an optimistic person at heart. The feedback I often receive is " you are so positive". Being aware of and choosing my thoughts allows me to have a positive attitude and this is a skill I continuously strengthen on a daily basis. What I want to also acknowledge is the polarity in this, the negative thoughts and emotions that arise especially during times of challenge. I am currently experiencing a significant challenge - a few weeks ago we had 2 days to pack up and move our beautiful family home of 16 years. We had defaulted on our loan repayments and the bank took over. You may or may not be able to imagine the thoughts and emotions that have arisen, emotions of disbelief, sadness, shame, anger, hopelessness and thoughts of, at 48 years old I have no material assets to speak of, I am such a failure. These thoughts and emotions are very deep and could be debilitating. I must acknowledge these feelings by feeling them, and letting them go. The one tool that I find helps me in every situation, it's like the rope that supports me to pull myself out of the whole, Is gratitude. As I begin to give thanx for even the smallest of things I slowly start to feel different and more and more opportunities to be grateful come before me. Gratitude is the life saver that will helps me to Find Strength No Matter What. To strengthen your ability to feel grateful - just before you go to sleep each night write down 5 things from your day that you are grateful for, pretty soon this will become a habit, you will discover you are abundant with opportunities of gratitude. Namaste.
